Retail Customer Service Representative
Summary of Position
The Retail Store Customer Service Representative is responsible for providing customer service to our customers at our retail stores and via email/phone. They advise customers about products that can be purchased to enhance and display our customers’ images. They provide photoshop services to improve the quality of customer images, restore photographs and modify images as per customer requirements. They provide design services for cards, posters, and more. They submit orders to the lab for processing and notify customers when orders are ready. They run photo processing equipment to develop film, color correct images, scan and print from film, digitize artwork and slides and print digital files. They also advise customers on framing with in-store inventory and custom options available via Scotts Valley.
Essential Responsibilities
- Advise and help customers decide on the right product to print and display their images.
- Help customers get images from their mobile devices and order prints.
- Run photo processing equipment to develop files and produce prints.
- Perform Photoshop work on images to restore, enhance and improve the quality for the images.
- Perform phone support on a daily basis. This includes non-local customers who call for general support.
- Process support emails on a daily basis from customers and act upon order requests, including status updates on existing orders.
- Start up, operate, and shut down chemical printers on a daily basis.
- Process film, color correct, rotate files, invoice out orders and online delivery of files through transfer services.
- Perform Photoshop work on images to restore, enhance and improve quality.
- Run slide scanning equipment, process files and finish orders.
- Perform final color correction on customer files before submitting orders.
- Receive and carefully handle high value originals such as paintings and historical documents, then digitize those materials in the photo studio.
- Process sales and transactions accurately through our POS/order database.
- Clean the film and printing machines monthly.
- Clean and dust the store regularly.
- Follow all safety procedures including wearing personal protective equipment
Other Duties
- Respond to changes in workflow and work volume as needed
- Mix chemicals using all company, state, and federal safety protocols.
- Perform housekeeping tasks to keep retail and production areas clean.
- Replenish inventory such as film and frames.
- Count/organize inventory shipments received at stores as directed by inventory lead.

- Ability to lift 30 lbs. or more.
- Ability to bend over repeatedly
Availability
- Available for OT during busy seasons of the year
- Flexible in scheduling changes
- Reliable in work ethic and in attendance
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with Adobe products (Photoshop, Lightroom, etc.).
- Technologically-inclined individuals who are:
- Adept in general file management, across networks and on local stations.
- Knowledgeable in mobile phone workings, including social media.
- Great with file management and adhering to predetermined organizational systems.
- Experience operating commercial photo processing equipment.
Compensation
- $17.00 per hour
